Dr. Anna Sadowska was invited to join the 1st European Council Summit which took place in Brussels on 24-25 November 2021. This was a great opportunity to explore the major policy and program updates provided by business and policy leaders who discussed the importance of investing in deep tech and the current state of play from both investors and start-ups point of view. The workshop on EIC Marketplace took place introducing a new an AI-driven co-creation platform for EIC companies and project partners to share information on their preliminary findings, stimulate cross-fertilization or serendipity effects and facilitate relations and interconnections between stakeholders.
During the event, The European Capital of Innovation Awards were also presented which is a recognition prize awarded to the European cities that have excelled in promoting innovation. The seventh edition of this Award recognizes the cities’ contribution to developing local innovation ecosystems for the benefit of innovators and the wellbeing of their citizens. In 2021, the European Capital of Innovation 3rd Award was given to the city of Vilnius by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth in recognition of its active role in promoting and facilitating the transition to Industry 4.0.
