ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Presenter: Dr. Mantas Vilkas.  He is a Full Professor and Researcher of the Digitalization Research Group at the School of Economics and Business at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania. His current research is concentrated on the process theories of development of organizational capabilities (such as analytic, networking, intelligence, leanness, agility) using sequence-revealing qualitative and quantitative methods.

 

 

 

Discussant: Dr. Monika Petraitė. She is a Full Professor and Principal Researcher of the Research Group Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the School of Economics and Business at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania. She is also a Visiting Scholar at UCL, SSEES, with the focus on technology upgrading, firms strategies and innovation management in catching up and also peripheral regions of Europe, and a Fulbright Visiting Scholar to SJSU, California, and many other places. She is a Director of Global R&D research Centre Central Eastern Europe, and is a founder and a leader of Open Innovation Research cluster between Kaunas Universities, with the focus on the health innovation within cross-disciplinary domains. She is a founding member of International Association of Knowledge Management, member of ISPIM, EURAM, Knowledge Economy Forum Lithuania. She is also an international advisory board member at Sheffield Hallam University Business School, elected member of Senatus International School of Management (Lithuania). She promotes innovation and organizational development via research, public business consulting practices and training, and is also a mentor and an inspirational speaker to promote innovation leadership and entrepreneurship via TEDx talks, Leadership forums, and other platforms.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION

Lithuanian companies do not know if they are lagging or leading in the implementation of Industry 4.0 tools. The Webinar presents the results of a representative survey of the extent of Lithuanian manufacturing firms’ digitalization. This webinar presents the diffusion of the lean methods, digital tools and digital services in Lithuania. He provides insights into which sectors and which size organizations are leading in adopting methods, digital tools and digital services. The diffusion of Industry 4.0 technologies in Lithuania is compared with Serbian (traditionalist country) and the Netherlands (frontrunner country) companies. Finally, the webinar presents the new survey results revealing which technologies are used, piloted and planned to use in the 3-year horizon by EU manufacturing “star” companies such as Heineken, NOKIA, BIC, Liebherr, Philips.
